Magnavox component receiver

Post: # 5122Post William »

This is the Magnavox component look that I remember. Not sure where it falls in the pecking order of power and what it has to offer.

Here's another, probably later, wonder who made them... Japanese? In any event I like the looks, be interesting to know the maker and specs. Be nice for a office or workshop system.

Roger, the one you show is definitely a newer model than the on in my link. Magnavox may have made the one in my link, your photo, I have no idea. Since Phillips bought Magnavox in 1974 the photo you posted could be a Phillips made Magnavox. I had a Norelco/Phillips stereo amp at one time. It was a amp only, and, it performed well. It's one of those things I wish I still had. I looked like this:

I got a Magnavox receiver at an auction in a lot of stuff I bought. MIne may have been even newer than the one Roger posted. Mine was pretty much all black, as I remember. The one I had was made in Taiwan. Perhaps Panasonic? It was a so-so performer, so I advertised it on the radio and sold it for a few dollars.
Life can be tough. It can be even tougher if you're stupid.....
