New here, but not new to vintage radios

Hi,
Joined here after searching the internet for info on my newly acquired Magnavox console, for which I'm gathering information to restore. It's a 1ST288G, Micromatic changer, AM/FM Stereo, 8801-20 Amp, haven't pulled the preamp yet to get the stamp on that (probably 59-something). Just blowing out the dust and counting capacitors, etc. right now. I'll post some stuff later when I start into this.
Already finding lots of good info here!
This is sort of my first HiFi project. I've restored a late-40s Motorola AM/SW radio, and a late 30s Packard Bell, so my soldering skills should be up to the challenge.

Welcome aboard, Eric! And thank you for completing your registration. I have six Magnavox stereos, all with P-P amps, two with the 88-series amplifiers. Lots of room to work, pretty straightforward. Recommend matched output tubes. Be sure to check the 220K ohm grid resistors, usually found drifted wildly high. Check really carefully (or just change) the cathode bias resistor, they are known to be burned internally. If it fails, it can cause damage to the output transformer, something you don't want. They are "Magnificent" instruments, best there was in their day. Good luck with your project, feel free to ask questions and don't forget to take and share pictures!!
