1971 G.E. V931 Wildcat Stereo

Here's the big sister to the mono G.E. V631.

The case was evenly covered with some kind of
nicotine looking stuff.
It did not have cigarette smell, than goodness,
and cleaned up fine.

The RD-500 changer sub-plate actually requires
some special G.E. service tools to get it apart.

I use long cotton tip swabs to clean all
the internals, which are very open in design,
so dis-assembly is not required.

The original idler is good, new motor mounts installed,
and a new stereo cartridge as the old Astatic 142
had a bad L channel.

There are separate R/L volume controls and
a ganged tone control.

Like the little mono gal, this stereo has some
very acceptable listening.
The stereo separation is quite prominent, even
though there's only 22 inches b/t the 2 x 6 inch speakers.

Another one done ! I think I only have about 5-6 more to do,
bringing more welcome space around the work table.
