[Hi-Fi-Mogul]

First time servicing this model, which was a re-design from
the L/S/W 600 series of changers.

Some good changes, and a few less than improved ones.

First, there is only one idler wheel that runs the platter.
The cycling mechanism now is similar to other changers, with
the platter gear post designed to engage internal parts.

The feed-lever (cam follower) assembly is now on the
outside of the main cam gear wheel.

The motor/switch/AC connector is much easier to remove as
one unit.

The muting switch is now in the topside of the changer base well.

Removing the intermediate wheel and main cam gear now
takes a different approach.
The Intermediate gear and the main cam gear each have 2
keyed points, that fit together when re-assembling those
onto the changer base.

You have to bring both gears out from their mouning shafts
to remove them, and tweak it even more when replacing them.

(I found that you do not have to remove the balance arm
locating bracket to remove the cam gear, which the manual
indicates to do)

The W801 manual is very helpful with other notes on servicing.

I did a manual test and the record play cycle works well.

I won't mount motor until I get the new stylus for the cartridge,
since I'll have to remove the tonearm to install the stylus.

All in all, not too stressful for a new changer model to service.
