I should take up gambling. I rolled the weather dice today and won. Biked to work on my 79th birthday! Dry in the a.m.; rain around midday; dry for my ride home. Many surprises. (1) Being 79. There's the saying, "I knew I'd get old; I didn't think it would happen so fast." Wow. (2) Working at 79. I always figured that I'd work until I was decrepit or losing my skills. Not yet. (3) On the bike at 79. When I was in college, 2 profs rode bikes, and we students thought that was really odd. Adults drove cars. Here's the official photo.
Michigan has two seasonal delicacies, beyond fruit: asparagus and morels. Maybe 3 if you add whitefish. The local brewpub offers fish tacos from midweek, and about once a week I take out whatever they found at the market. Last might it was hake tacos with jalapeno and dill tartar and apricot and cabbage slaw on top. But for the second week in a row, I had ordered fish tacos before reading their menu board. They offered steak and morel fajitas. Turns out they'd be offered again tonight, so right after work I walked over to order up takeout. $50 inc. tip, but hey, it's my birthday.

Oops, forgot that the site won't take jpg images. You'll have to imagine what the old guy looked like in a bike helmet.

Re: Biking on birthday
Well, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Chris. I have four years before I catch up to you and I guess only time will tell if I make it or not. Fish taco's, I love fish, sound good but not with jalapeno tartar sauce, that would kill my tummy. Keep riding that bike and enjoying life.
