Alternative power cords for General Electric stereos

Discussions about instruments in smaller cabinets. If they don't set on the floor, they belong here. Tube and solid state, stereo and mono.

Alternative power cords for General Electric stereos

Post: # 25395Post electra225 »

A forum member contacted me about a power cord for his GE Trimline stereo. These stereos have a power cord interlock like is more commonly used in TV sets. The originals go bad, and replacements are unobtanium. I have found that the power cord used on those cheap boombox radios and cassette tape players will work in these little stereos. I've got a couple pictures of such a cord used on my RP-2060A Trimline stereo. I hope this will answer his question.

This is my little Trimline stereo. This is the better one of the three I have. Playing my new Lawrence Welk record.
