Fate or kismet ?
was at work yesterday, and had to deliver a new car to a customer and pick up the loaner they had... when I got there, the guy was in the garage and called me in , I immediately noticed he had some old electronic stuff stacked up in the garage , I mentioned that I was also in to old vintage stuff ... then he asked if I had a few minutes and led me down into his basement... and my mind was immediately blown as I saw multitudes of stuff , he had 5 jukeboxes all restored , he had a stack of receivers from 60's and 70's Marantz, pioneer , Fisher, etc and Disc jockey and pro turntables , also he had R2R's 10" and 7 " and showed me stuff like the RCA cassette system from the 50's with the players NIB!, also showed me a RCA 45 player I had never seen before a single slot player NIB! all his stuff was top of the line stuff no junk... and then he asked if I wanted a couple Sony R2R players from the local college , which I took , but what were the odds of meeting a stranger that is into the same kind of stuff , we exchanged numbers and promised to keep in touch ... here is a pic from the web of that single slot player ...

Wow, Elton, that was some find. I hope the two of you can stay in touch and maybe you could invite him to check out the forum.

What a great chance encounter! Sometime you find them, sometime they find you! Thanks for sharing this story.

Re: Fate or kismet ?
He gave me 3 TC-105 models from Delta college, mono machines that were used in classrooms... 2 work , 1 is a parts machine ... but the price was right, I told him if he gets tired of one of his 10" R2R to let me know, he also claimed to have a RCA console in the shed along with other stuff ...

Delta College... I'm grinning because I called Dore Demolition before they tore down Bay City's Empire Theater to see if the big rack of commercial RCA tube amps might still be in the projection booth.
