Sylvania portable record player

My college roommate had one of these. It was a great performer, good bass, good highs, Garrard changer with magnetic cartridge. It sounded more like good components that a portable.

I wonder if they rate similar to those KLM Model 19's.

A college friend had a Sylvania that was probably one step down in the lineup, and it seemed way above most of the portables of the era. The others were no kind to the records, with heavy arms with crummy bearings and cheap-o ceramic cartridges. The Sylvanias looked well designed.
