The weather guesser babe says "rain"
Not a big deal to most of you, but around here rain is a big deal. All the TV stations put a reporter at every water puddle in the Valley, admiring cars splashing in the water when it rains. We have had .15 (fifteen hundredths) of an inch of rain since April. I was running errands this afternoon and got about 50 drops of water on the windshield in maybe a half mile distance. Then it quit. The weather guesser babe says it will rain tonight, lasting until tomorrow. Maybe a half inch total. That is a gulley-washer around here.......

In my backyard, where the rain gauge probably under-reads because of shielding from the house, I measured 4.16" in Oct. and Nov. to date. Expecting more tonight and tomorrow.

It rained most of the night. Very light most of the time. We might have gotten a quarter of an inch, I haven't heard officially. All the plants look really good this morning. The cucumbers must have grown six inches overnight, a tomato is blooming and the "germaniums" are busting at the seams......

Glad to see some sogginess that folks in this end take for granted has made it your way Greg.
Just pretty trees here until leaves are stripped off for Thanksgiving. Hay fever for me at all-time high of course, goes along with Autumn here.

I don't believe there was a gallon of runoff in the entire county. There was so much dust and dirt on the roads, cars look like they have been on gravel roads. There are no rain gutters on houses out here. Once in awhile you'll see some, but as a general rule there are none. The water splashes up on the stucco and you have a streak of mud on the house. Our "yard rocks" are still thick enough we don't get much mud on the house. It is good to get a shower. They say more for today. They just said 40% chance on the radio. They also said rain varied from a trace to about a quarter inch. The station is on the reservation northeast of here, but they are usually pretty accurate.

If you got rain, that means you have spots in the dust on the car and now you need to wash it. I guess the rain is worth a few spots.

Well, I had washed the car and it was garaged. I reckon those few drops of rain weren't enough to spot it very badly. They are saying more rain in the wee tinies of the morning. Maybe another quarter of an inch. You guys get excited over inches of rain, we get excited over DROPS of rain.....
