It's mid-November and we had temps in the low 50s with occasional sun, a break in the relentless rain, so I took advantage of it and rolled out the Mustang for the season's final drive. The goal was to burn up some of the ordinary, ethanol-laced gas and replace it with rec gas and also to get the car thoroughly warmed up and dried out. I headed north into Leelanau County, the adjacent cherry orchard, vineyard, and tourist county that also contains our local National Park, Sleeping Bear Lakeshore. I made a big 90-mile loop and at the end filled up the tank with ethanol-free gas and Sta-Bil. All summer I burn crummy gas because it does not sit in the tank long, but the stuff is nothing but trouble when it sits a few months. I'll probably add a bit of isopropyl alcohol because the tank still had a few gallons of regular in it.
Now the only thing standing between me and snow is getting the snow tires on the Ranger.
