It's called oil stupid!

the ole magnavox R2R was playing sort of sluggish and you could at times hear the pitch change as the speed would slow then speed back up.... I figured my Chinese motor run cap was junk after less than a year... today it would not start at all... took it apart and tried to spin the motor manually ... i was shocked as it was stuck pretty good ... and it barely spun by hand .... it was dry of oil... I have probably played this machine about 50 hours all together .... I would have thought it would last longer ? the easy part is on top where it has felt oilers ... had to remove it to oil the bottom of the motor and there are no oilers ... so I squirted as much toward the motor shaft as I could through the vent holes in the motor ..
