Dust!!
You guys back east lament all the snow removal and the time that takes. You wonder why we, out here in the desert Southwest, get to escape having to mess with snow. We don't get off scot-free. We have dust. The stuff penetrates everything around here. It accumulates an inch thick in the window ledges unless you stay on top of it. It penetrates concrete and stucco. You'd think you could just blow it off with air, or squirt a garden hose on it to remove the dust. Not so. You need a pressure washer to remove it. The combination of the fine dust, driven by wind, then baked on by the sun makes it like removing a layer of the concrete in order to remove it. So, you guys have a snow shovel, or a snow blower or a blade on a pickup or on a tractor to remove snow. We have pressure washers to remove the dust. You have to dress in insulated coveralls and boots to remove snow, we dress in shorts and flip flops, but the aggravation factor is still quite similar.

I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison

Re: Dust!!
That dust is like bagged concrete too. I feel for you like the yankees with their snow.
