Search engine optimization
To make a long story short, SEO refers to our "footprint" on search engines. How people searching the Internet find us. To make another long story short, I'd like to ask that we all work on making sure our forum topic titles are specific and free of slang. To wit: instead of making the title "record player woes" make it, instead something like "Magnavox TP 241D record player-hum in audio". The search engine will "see" four things. "Magnavox", "TP 241D", "record player", and "hum in audio". We need to eliminate slang in the topic titles. We need to use "Voice of Music" instead of VM. " VM" is also a maker of floor tile. We need to use "Magnavox" instead of "Maggie" in topic titles. Someone actually searching for Maggie might not want to be referred to an old console stereo forum. The other thing we need to improve our status on search engines is participation, posting. We are going to work with social media platforms and other forums to increase our exposure. If you guys are on other forums, how about giving us a plug on that forum? If you and friends and family are on social media, kindly remember us to anyone you might think would be interested in what we discuss. We are working on a few other things, so if you will help us with this, our forum will grow. I thank you for your time and attention.

Re: Search engine optimization
Glad to have you on board, Mr. Mogul.
I mentioned keeping our topic titles specific and free from slang. If we gave a topic that makes its way to our Google index and somebody clicks on it, the Googlebots "see" that. If we have "click bait" in our topic, with no substance, that subtracts from our "score" shoves the forum farther down the index on Google. So, if a Voice of Music topic is titled "VM" and someone is looking for VM floor tile, but gets referred to a console stereo forum, they would immediately click another entry, since they are not looking for Voice of Music equipment. This would count against our score, since our topic title was not accurate, hence we created "click bait" something search engines frown upon. Being so specific about title integrity may not be such a big deal on an older, larger, more well-established forum. But we are tiny, a baby forum and this is a big deal to us if we want to increase our image and grow.
