Baby Roadrunners
We have a family of roadrunners that lives under a bush in the common area of our community. A mom roadrunner, a dad roadrunner and two baby roadrunners. No coyote, though. Those little buggers can run really fast, faster than the bigger ones. Bentley likes to stop and look for them when we ride by on the golf cart. They are either never there, or just don't come out when Bentley is around. He wouldn't hurt them, he is just nosy. FYI, the roadrunner is a natural enemy to a rattle snake.

Re: Baby Roadrunners
I think Roadrunners are cool, as well as the Quail you have down there. When I'm visiting in AZ, and in Queen Creek where I stay, I see both running around in the backyard. When I stay at the other home, which is in Scottsdale, I see bunnies and Cougars. It's interesting that Cougars roam around Scottsdale and seem to fit right in with the population. I'm guessing there is a food source around there that they like, and it would have to be more than the bunnies in order for them to survive.

Re: Baby Roadrunners
No other critter seems to bother the roadrunners. They don't get hit on the road. I don't know what they eat, but I don't believe it's rabbits. There is a family of several rabbits in this community and they seem to survive without fear they will get eaten.

I looked them up on Bing and found a page of good information.

That was interesting, Rex. I didn't know roadrunners were members of the cuckoo family. Thank you.
