We were talking the other day about the minimalist attitude of GE and how they got more performance out of modest livery than about any manufacturer out there. This radio is a good example of that. There is actually half a plastic radio cabinet INSIDE the cabinet of this set. The took an ordinary plastic case AM-FM clock radio and put it in a fancier wood cabinet. It's still a six-tube radio. This thing is a good performer with reasonably decent audio afforded by its generously-sized speaker. I hope the pictures are good enough you can see them. I took them on my phone when I should have used the camera.

"Long Distance" = tuned RF amp on those late GE tube models. Looks like a 3-gang tuning cap?
