Cool set-up! I had a Strombecker set in the '60s, I remember that it had a Jaguar D-Type and a Ferrari Testa Rossa. The new step-mom got rid of it all when I went away to college, along with all my promo models and many of my records....grrrr.

The simplicity of using AC instead of DC... allows 2 cars to run on same track but 180 out of phase is brilliant...

When the craze hit around 1966, I was 10. There was an enterprising individual who bought one of the storefronts in my small town andbuilt a great track. the kids would pay so much for time on the track and would get a controller from the owner for the allotted time. My folks got me an entry level slot car and couldn't figure why I would need money to run it. It would take a lot of cigarette runs for my folks to get me the funds.
