If the range of piano was best heard on a Magnavox, this demo record seems to target a certain demographic.

If Roger Williams alone was featured on this Magnavox demonstration (1000 cycle horns), I wonder whose demo record Floyd Cramer could be found on?

I don't know of any demonstration records Floyd Cramer is on, but I'll bet he is on an RCA demo record or two. Marty Gould and Frankie Carle were frequent contributors to RCA demonstration records. I know Bill collects demonstration records. I don't know if he has this one or not. Wonder what the handwritten "Command" notation refers to?

What came to mind is the "Command" records label.
I'm sure many of us have some of their highly produced stereo
albums.
Possibly the owner was comparing the Kapp vs Command demos ?

I only have a couple of Kapp albums, but they were also well
produced. One is Billy Mure and His Combo, "Tough Strings".

That is not a Magnavox album I have, but sounds interesting. All of the Roger Williams records I have were recorded under the Knapp label which makes me think he may have been part owner?? I have a Command 35MM record, it's one of the percussion records and a great sound on the Maggie Symphony and especially on the Imperial.

Roger Williams was exclusively signed to Kapp records. According to the net, David Kapp left RCA in 1954 to start his own label.

I have the Magnavox Command record and one with a cover photo of Sinatra. Can't remember what record company made it but I dont think it was Reprise..

I think record companies made these test albums as a symbiotic relationship with the electronics companies. See how great our records sound on a Maggie? Buy it and our records and you, too, can experience this everyday in the comfort of your own home!

Great pianist, no doubt an excellent performance from him. Being an old piano tickler myself and son of a piano teacher, I can guarantee that if they REALLY wanted to demonstrate tonal range/frequency of their models a full symphony orchestra with chorus would have done a far better job of that. And America's #1 pianist?... perhaps of light classical and pop standards, but I'd nominate Van Cliburn #1 at that time, or Glenn Gould (born Canadadian but later US citizen) and in the World, perhaps Horowitz, Richter, or Rubenstein. YMMV.

when ever I see command records or 35mm I grab them, most were done by Enoch Light and his light brigade , I never saw that particular record before, seeing it mentions astrosonic it must be mid 60's? I also like anything by Billy Vaughn...

Frankie Carle, Floyd Cramer, Pig Robbins, Marty Robbins, Del Wood, Jerry Lee Lewis, Mickey Gilley, Jimmy Durante, Ray Charles, Ronnie Milsap, Hovie Lister, JoAnn Castle, Bob Smale. The world, fortunately, is not short on competent ticklers of the ol' 88.........

Billy Vaughn was the A&R man for Dot Records. The stereo quality of his late 1950's recordings is awesome. He had the second best drummer in the business in his band.
