What is a Stereo Theater?

This is not a TV forum, per se. Stereo Theaters, Home Theaters and other three-in-one combination console instruments contain a TV chassis. We can discuss them here, along with stand-alone TV set issues you may care to share.

I see this craigslist ad for a magnavox tv with a phonograph and am fm tuner but not sure of what i am looking at. Were there various models of tv not stereo theaters? does the inclusion of the turntable and radio make it one? Hydro https://sanantonio.craigslist.org/fuo/d ... 62288.html

The link you provided shows a Magnavox Stereo Theater. And it appears to have remote control. I'm guessing a 300 series instrument, circa 1962. Probably a 24" picture tube and a 93 series amp. The modern cabinet is s plus. Magnavox called their three-in-one units Stereo Theater. RCA called theirs Home Theater.
Life can be tough. It can be even tougher if you're stupid.....
