Anther cheap storage idea

Post: # 3967Post electra225 »

My wife uses Swiffers when she cleans house. The plastic tubs they come in make good tool boxes or junk boxes. There is a lid if you want that. They will stack together. They can be used for bench tools, tubes you use for test, soldering irons, miscellaneous small parts, things like that. They will also hold water if you have something that leaks. I don't know how susceptible they would be to damage from chemicals, since they are made of plastic.
I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison

Greg,
I save clear glass spice jars and divide up various sizes of
wood screws, sheet metal screws, bolts, and washers
in them.

I have friends save me larger aluminum pans for use
when I am dis-assembling record changers.
I put all the parts in the pans as I go along.
Better than leaving parts on the workbench, where they
always are pushed off or fall on the floor into
oblivion.

Some of my only real organizing !

Those blue tubs are also just long enough for tools, at back edge of your bench, away from soldering iron, plug strip, etc.

I use one set of tools for VM-RCA changers and another set which is metric for Magnavox, Dual, Grundig, etc.

A plastic cafeteria tray is perfect for changer servicing, placing a catch pan under the whole business.
