My sister mentioned playing records on this little device the other day, so when I came downstate in Friday I brought it along, with the collection of 7 " 78 rpm kiddie records so she could experience it again. She did a little video. One of the records had an address sticker for my 2nd-younger brother, probably from taking the little disc to school for some reason.That's what I'm playing in the video. It seems that all 4 of us kids had our first exposure to playing recordings on this GE, bought used.

The phono's crystal cartridge is getting weak--output is limited. At least it's not distorting. Maybe I should check for resistor drift too.

Driving down and thinking about playing records as a kid, I remembered that my favorite record in the bunch was "The Sailor's Hornpipe." It was predictive--sailing had been a big part of my life for the last 60 years.
