Need help

So I found this record cabinet in my local Facebook market place and need help Identifying it to get parts for it. I’m hoping someone can help, I have been looking all over to find it.

Your unit is a AMC. The model number is listed under the manufacturer's name on the tube placement chart that you posted. I can't make it out, but it looks like maybe "55-58" or "55 56", something like that. Once the model number is determined, we can look in a Sams Photofact index to see if a schematic is available. There have been several AMC items show up here recently. My understanding is that AMC was a model sold in department stores, but don't hold me to that. Maybe someone on here will have more details in the way of background information that may help you. Good luck!

Welcome! That is a cool looking unit and if I am reading the tube layout on the chart on the back it has 3-12AX7's in the preamp stage. PP 6BQ5's, and maybe dual rectifier tubes. That is impressive. If you can take a couple more photos of the two charts on the back and maybe take the back off and let us look inside. You do have a 1200 series Voice of Music changer which is good as they are easy to work on and pretty much bullet proof. Again, welcome and we are glad you are here.

Thanks everyone for the help it’s very informative as I really have no idea, I will try to open it up and take some pictures for everyone.Also it seems that it is in a working condition and the record player itself needs a needle.

Not to scare you, but even though it works, it still needs a rebuild. Vintage electronics are on bowered time, things like capacitors, resistors, controls cleaned are all very important to get the best performance out of your new toy. You have a factory schematic on the back, if you take a good photo of it, something we can see and read would be very helpful. That way we can help you through any questions you might have down the road. The changer will need to be serviced too. Again, not to scare you, but for it to perform like new it needs all the old grease and oil removed and then fresh applied. A new needle is a must too. It is all doable. If I can do it, so can you so please do not give up and feel overwhelmed from the get-go. It will be interesting to see just who manufactured your amplifier. With the tubes that are in it, it definitely has the potential to be quite the performer.

What a nice find! Couldn't be sure of the model on the back label. As best I could make out it looks like it might be DS 50.
I've not seen dual 6CA4 rectifiers on PP 6BQ5 amplifier but there is always a first time. Impressive components from a little seen console brand. Thank you for sharing your console and look forward to following your progress.

I got the 50 but was unsure about the DS. Even with a magnifying glass it was difficult to make out. I Googled DS50 but got nothing that pertained to AMC.

I don't see a model DS-50 listed for AMC in my Sams Index, circa 1976, for whatever that may be worth....

AMC is listed in the Sams Index as "AMC Amcrest", again, for whatever that may be worth.....

According to the Sams Index, AMC sold several models of TV sets, both black and white and color.

The good news is that you have a very legible schematic
to do the amplifier servicing that is needed.

AMC from my experience with their labelled products
probably did not make this unit.

Its name AMC/Aimcee Wholesale Corp. indicates that it
was doing marketing and distribution, using other
suppliers for the products for it to brand.

As example, the AMC blonde record player I'm
working on, has the same exact amplifier, changer,
and speaker set up as a Sears Silvertone model.

As we have noted, this is a very well-made system,
and after restoration, the sound should be super.

The V-M 1200 changer manual is in the downloads,
and there are numerous good u toob videos on
the dis-assembly, cleaning, and maintenance of the changer.

Since model DS-50 is not listed in Sams, and I don't have a Beitman's index, perhaps someone on here might have one. Since there is no radio tuner, it should be possible to go thru that amp with no schematic. And, of course, there is plenty of help available on this forum for repair of the VM changer. Good luck!
