I saw a local FB ad for a Webcor Musicale from the
early 1950s.
The changer was missing parts, so they had it for $25.
I looked up the amp, and it had a PP 6V6 power transformer
circuit.
How could I lose on that price ?
So, I get the Webcor home, and lift up the changer to see
what the innards looked like.
They looked like vacant. No amplifier, ha ha !!
I called the lady back, asking if her deceased husband
had removed the amp, as she said he had wanted to
restore the Webcor.
She had no clue, so I tried to describe a tube amp for
her to search around for.
No reply as of yet.
BUT, the cabinet is Blonde and the 3 speakers are there.
AND, she gave me a Webcor 1952 full color salesman
brochure catalog, factory record changer manual, and a
factory tape recorder manual.
So, whatever happens, I've got a couple of amplifiers that
need a new home, and several extra V-M 1200 changers.
I have NEVER wanted to work on Webcor changers, and
this one is missing parts, so a V-M was in the cards for
future swap out.
I think the $25 was well spent.

I want to upload the salesman catalog, but I will have to
figure out how to do a decent scan of each of the many
pages.

I would agree, money well spent. You have never wanted to work on a Webcor changer, I have never wanted to work on a Collaro changer. I guess we are kind of in the same boat, just different changers. Thank you in advance for uploading the info that you got with your purchase. I wonder if the lady would let look around her house for the amp???

I bought a Hallicrafters S-38 one time that the guy said didn't work. No tubes, no IF cans, no speaker. The cabinet was nice and my stepdad was still alive then, and he was a Halli fan. You could get new IF cans back then, so he put in all new parts and tubes. IT was a really good radio. Thanks for uploading the information to the forum....
I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison
