Mid 1960's Magnavox Console

This Micromatic 600 didn't go much farther past
those years as I understand it, before the W700/800
series came onboard.

Looks very clean.

I understood that the 600 series changers ended with the 1964 model year. I have been wrong before....

That's interesting, I'd never seen that style of tuner minus a tuning indicator meter before.

Rex, I didn't notice it didn't have a tuning indicator. Good eyes....

I can't see the front of the cabinet, but that thing looks a lot like my '63 model 2ST253. It doesn't say Astro-Sonic anyplace. It might be a tube model.

Im willing to bet this is solid state. Don't bother, I have found these "Magnasonic" to be troublesome compared to more expensive Astro-sonic models of those same years 63-66. I have had to replace all the caps AND some transistors on these , which is a sign the originals weren't good RCAs like the Astros used.

TOO many low end Magnavox sets having 5 knobs and no CD marks on AM dial weren't obvious enough clues, were bought by yours truly then handed off to Habitat as working donations after I have done enough to cut my losses.

I just picked up another console that from the picture on FB, I thought had the AMP 93, BUT only had the single ended AMP86 with RCA 6BQ5s , an even tamer version of the AMP96, which used Mullard EL84s as OEM.
