Add palm tree skinning to the list.....

Post: # 17596Post electra225 »

.....of dumb things I have to do. Movie projectors, broken chicken, who knows what else. Our landscaper is either too dumb or too lazy to notice the palm tree needs skinning. Scorpions and spiders like to live in a palm tree that needs to be skinned. When you cut the fronds off, it leaves a stub. Those stubs add up over time, and the critters like to live in them. You take a sharp utility knife and cut around the tree in a circle, then peel off the debris. This makes a big mess. I have to do about a foot at a time because it fills up the trash receptacle really fast. We put in artificial grass, but the landscaper didn't cut down the bill because he doesn't have to mow. I have to protect the bouganvillas because he cuts off the blooms. All I need is a blower and he'll be out of business. ;)

As much as landscapers take, a blower would be a cheap investment. I recommend one with a top wind speed of at least 195 mph and multiple speeds.

Blowers have gotten high. The last one I bought was corded, but it was something like $39..... ;)

I have leaf issues being on an old farmstead, many trees and dying vegetation and airborne pollen means lots of dirt, which get wet and feeds the green algae that grows on the cement plank siding. We have never paid for unnecessary landscaping work, Its my exercise after all plus who needs a gym membership after 26 years taming the jungle we have.

For my birthday a month ago, getting unexpected cash, I bought an EGO 650 cfm blower with a 56 volt (damned expensive) battery. to kick butt!!! after I broke my Paramount "wind broom", which was corded and much less powerful. I get maybe 15 minutes of full blast which is enough for me, then it fast charges for an hour.
