Firestone

[William]

I'm surprised no one picked this up yet, it's been listed for months and at $75.00 the price seems ok for what it is.

That's an interesting one. How did Firestone get into radios?

[electra225]

Lots of non-electronic businesses sold radios. Goodyear, Western Auto, Montgomery Ward, Sears, Gambles on and on. Many of Firestone's radios were made by Wells-Gardner, which is good stuff. I think Stewart Warner made some of their radios and probably other manufacturers as well. Firestone had a full line of "TBA" tires, batteries and accessories that they sold. Dad had a tractor one time that had a Firestone tractor radio mounted on the fender.
