Robert Maxwell, his harp and orchestra

Post: # 15979Post electra225 »

I have this album on an open reel tape. I was not familiar with his material until this afternoon. The recording I have is in hyper stereo. Some very unique sounds. Not unpleasant material at all, if it is a tad different than what I normally listen to. I may transfer some of this material to CD and use it for a demonstration CD for console stereos.

Listened for about 2 minutes...well, it's, ummm, certainly different. The word gimmicky comes to mind?

The material is different. I'm not sure "gimmicky" is the right definition, but I can see where one would draw that conclusion. The material is very similar to what is found on the Concert Grand demonstration record by Enoch Light. VERY stereo. A lot of unique sounds, just what is needed for a demonstration record. ;)

I love Enoch Light and Command, when I was about 13 I bought one of EL's records at EJ Korvettes, I think it was called "Persuasive Percussion"? been a long long time ago,.. and yes I was weird.
