Hello all, So as you guys know and probably tired of hearing about by now... I am doing renovations to the 1954 MCM house we have. Even though I have not finished closing up the walls from the plumbing we decided to replace all of the windows in the house. We wanted the single pane aluminum framed windows with no seals to be replaced with middle of the line vinyl framed double pane This meant that the family room where the stereos are they had to be moved away from the windows. so I pushed/pulled them all to the other side of the room with the last one being the 1960 CG and both extension speakers so I could listen to it while doing the renovation.
On Thursday they finished installing 13 windows. But there were issues first we wanted to keep to the style of the house with trim on the front and we also wanted to keep the tile sills. There was a very small window in one of the bedrooms that I wanted to double the size of. So more drywall removed. I had to put a bigger header and jack studs and a new sill stud in it to get the 54" x38" window in (old one was 24"x18")
All that prep and then they arrived on Wednesday and were done in two days. The install guys were great. at the end of the day on Wednesday they turned on the radio with the tienio music. I then turned on the CG and turned it up halfway they liked it!
Yesterday came home and the house was noticeably quieter we live a half block from a busy road in the city so lots of sirens and racers and trucks. So I have developed a method for moving that works for the 58 CG and the 60 Cg. Because they are so heavy and I am on carpet, what I do is get down on my knees to get a hold of the console down low and just pull 3 or 4 inches. It is surprisingly easy but I have to reset and do it again and it takes 20 minutes to get them across the room. Thats the progress I got the bluetooth adapter on. Fired up the 60 CG in its new spot. https://flic.kr/p/2oKfzQq

The new windows look great, Hydro! I like the wooden ledges under the windows. You have a good place for your consoles!

I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison

I like the new windows too and the wood. Two houses ago my family room in the basement was finished in knotty pine like yours and I always liked it as it gave a nice warm feeling especially when the fireplace was going on a cold winter day.
