Console Spotting
I had remembered seeing a short blip of a Micromatic black tonearm changer in the trailer of the movie Max Rose. I saw a bit of Reelz's Autopsy series about Jerry Lewis and it mentioned the film. I found it was available for free viewing on The ROKU Channel and put it on. I thought it was a good film. The scene in question was at an assisted living facility and there was a man cave area where there were drinks and a first generation Astro'Sonic with which the old boys were playing good music. Magnavoxes don't appear in too many movies these days.

Re: Console Spotting
We are watching the entire Perry Mason series from day one to the last episode in 1966 on "Freevee" streaming service. There are several regular console stereos used on that series. A Concert Grand, a Symphony, a Motorola TV and a Zenith "Royal" TV, circa maybe 1958 or so. Nobody on Perry Mason is poor. They all drive current-issue motor vehicles. Lt. Tragg drove a '59 Electra flat-top for one year, the last half of 1959. There is a Zenith radio that appears from time to time. Hamilton Burger usually drove Buick Electras. There is a cheaper console radio that appears from time to time, I believe it to be a Stewart-Warner version of some kind.

I'm sure Perry's retainers winnows out the hoi polloi.

Re: Console Spotting
There was an episode awhile back where Perry Mason defended this "sweet little old lady" type for a penny retainer. When he had gotten her acquitted, she asked what she owed him. Perry ask her what she thought his services were worth. She thought a bit, then added, in addition to his penny retainer, she handed him $23. "Just exactly the fee I had in mind" replied Mr. Mason.
But, you're right. Most of his clients were of sufficient means to afford his services. I don't know what Paul Drake charged, but Drake drove a new T-Bird every year and had several "operatives" working for him.

I remember one episode where Perry had some Hallicrapter receiver under the window in his office.

Both of the "elmers" I have been fortunate to be blessed with were Hallicrafters nuts. There was an episode of Perry Mason awhile back, I think it was a 1958 episode that had a Halli S-38 setting in an old miner's shack. They used lanterns to light the shack, so I never saw how they powered the Halli in the scene.....
