Ronette Crystal Stereo cartridge model 208-1

I have one of these in a GE Trimline stereo that is dead. I asked Gary if he had anything that would work, he said to email him after the first of May. These are getting hard to find, soo...

I Googled it. Turns out, though pricy (?), these are available, and, in fact, they are reproduced under a brand "Arista". They range in the $29.95 up price range, which I think is spendy, but may not be all that bad since these are available new. A crystal cartridge, but medium output, 2 volts, give or take, depending on who's doing the talking. One guy said 750 millivolts, but most information says 2 volts nominal. I have some links I'll share and maybe we can learn something that will help someone else going thru this. There is a surprising number of folks dealing in old record player parts. Record players are somewhat new to me, so I'm learning a lot. We may have to add some of these folks to our suppliers list. If anyone cares to jump in here with their two cents, that would be most appreciated.

Have any of you had experience with this ebay seller? They have over 66,000 transactions on ebay, so they are not rookies....

I had no idea there were so many suppliers for record player parts. I'd heard of the Needle Doctor, but had not kept up on other suppliers. I reckon I had not been all that "in" to record players and their repair until I started doing the Tolex on these little record players I have. It never fails to amaze me who high this stuff has gotten. New pressings are $30 at Walmart. I remember going to the Rexall drug store and being able to buy a record player needle for 98 cents. I don't know if 50 bucks is a reasonable price for a stereo cartridge or not, but if what I need is new, tested, available from a reputable vendor, then that may be the going rate for one.

Turntableneedles.com looks like a clip joint to me, the prices are always sky high.

I had a problem with the "Doctor" years ago, he sent me cartridges that weren't as advertised, and when I complained to him directly he blocked me as a buyer.

I always got good service from stereoneedleslady.
