I ordered a 10 uF 25 V e-lytic cap made by Vishay.
When it arrived, it was not a standard aluminum case type.
It has a chamfered end and a black stripe on the other.
The few sources I found say the chamfered end is positive
and the other obviously the negative terminal.
The Vishay reference pdf file says nothing about this
particular design.
The source for ID the chamfer end was from DigiKey.
Can someone confirm ?

The arrows point to the negative end of the cap on the blue one on top. I would say on the lower cap the end marked with the black stripe is negative.
I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison

Agree with Greg. Usually the can is negative. Looks like the black stripe end is the can. Could you try using low DC voltage to see which way has a lower resistance?

I got the usual good service callling Mouser to
query about the cap's polarity.
Chamfer end is positive.
I had read through the data sheets, but the Mouser
product agent found that the polarity was on the
last sheet, set in very small font.
Vishay like most corporations, could do with some
common sense web page developers.
