A step back in time!
I found this today as I was just looking around. I hope you enjoy the trip down memory lane as much as I did.

Don't you wish you could mail in an order, backward in time?

Re: A step back in time!
I've got a bunch of old Allied, Lafayette, and Heath catalogs that I love to look through for the stuff that I could not afford at the time. And now that I could afford it, it's no longer in the warehouse. On eBay, I suppose, for the kinds of inflated prices we see for ordinary equipment.

I love looking at the old electronic catalogs, and like you Chris, finding the stuff I wish I could have afforded back then.
Yesterday was a St. Paddies day meal with my cousin. She is an excellent cook, she does everything from scratch, so when invited I try never to miss. A while back she told me about a record store in the little town, she lives in, so I left early to see just where it was located and by luck it was actually open. Nice store, totally organized with all the records in alphabetical order and in the type of music it is. The other thing, they had record players all the way from a crank Victrola to component stuff. Portables too. He showed me a Pilot console with what looked to be a Pilot 240 amp. It had the same Garrard changer as the Pilot I had along with the same Pilot speakers. He was telling me it was worth 2 grand and I did not argue with him, but definitely not in the shape it was in. He also told me he had several pallets of consoles in the basement along with other record players. He offered to let me see them, but by this time I needed to leave and told him I would be back when I had more time. It was a fun day finding the unique store in the little town not far from me and have an excellent meal with my cousin. And the sun was out full the entire day.

Re: A step back in time!
Wow, thanks Ken. I had no idea that Lafayette went back that far in time. I picked the year I was born and looked at all the stuff that was available at than time. There is some really cool stuff, and some high end and very collectable today available all those years ago.
