Re: Welcome new member, "thorjonc"
Let me add two encouragements. First, don't worry about dumb questions. Some of my dumb questions here & elsewhere have generated interesting discussions. Will Rogers said, "We are all ignorant, just on different subjects." My range of ignorance is quite surprising. Second, just speak up. Some of us are long-term chatters and that can seem intimidating. But we are friendly and we avoid politics & religion, except when it's Magnavox v Zenith, Scott vs Fisher, or GM vs Ford. New voices are always welcome. Maybe somebody new can illuminate areas of ignorance.

Re: Welcome new member, "thorjonc"
"thorjonc" may have posted somewhere, but not on here. He has never logged onto this forum.
And, just for clarification, a new member is encouraged to introduce himself in Introductions when they join. That is in the rules. We are perfectly within the rules to notice that a new member has joined and to welcome him, whether he had introduced himself or not. Also, Moderators have to approve the first three posts of all new members. This helps to prevent spambots signing on, then posting 300 posts and making a big mess. Not foolproof but better than nothing.
Again, for clarification, if anyone has a question or comment about rules violations, a better communication method is via Private Message to a Moderator. Do not post such statements on the forum.
