Resistors?

Post: # 12934Post TC Chris »

If I've asked before, I apologize. I ordered up a bunch of resistors from Sal Brisindi so I could finish the GE radio-phono, but there hasn't been any action. Knowing his problems, I hate to nag. So I'm wondering what other sources there are for small-order resistor purchases. Advice?

I want to get the little player done and out of my shop to make way for other projects.

Mouser and Digi-Key will both handle small orders. So will AES. Mouser's website is such a hassle to navigate, you may not want to work on your project after you order your parts. The problem with a small order is that shipping may cost more than the parts. Just Radios is in Canada, but not too far from you. Sorry to hear about Sal. Good luck.

Didn't one of our members say he talked to Sal and Sal told him he was going to continue the business but with help? I know with my dealings with Sal it was never speedy service and maybe the new help is in a learning phase, so things are even slower. I would reach back out to Sal's email, sometimes it took a few emails before he would respond. He said things go to his spam folder often and he would miss them. You could try calling too.

The site is open. I just assumed the new two-handed operation is a bit slower.

I've used these guys in St Paul MN for many years for Illinois capacitors and other small parts like resistors. They usually work with bigger outfits but have accommodated me nicely in the past, are much smaller than Mouser and Dici-Key and very nice to deal with, and they get stuff out fast. Not online so you phone them and give your order and credit card, and they ship out quickly in my experience... nice folks to work with.
