Emerson model 1913 console stereo

You don't see one of these every day. Rather a nicely styled rig. What kind of changer does this have? The price is optimistic.

I would guess BSR on the changer.

It'd look even better without that "lozenge" thing in the middle of the speaker grilles!

The trim in the grill is part of its personality. Yeah, Bill, that was my guess. Some of the more orphan stereos are as interesting as their more common and more popular counterparts.

Yes, a BSR UA15 SS or similar from early 1960's.

That is a nice looking cabinet.

I've looked really closely at that stain on the top. It appears to be in the lacquer. One could strip and refinish the top and you'd be golden. The rest of the cabinet looks like the touch would fix it right up. Move the decimal point and you'd be closer on price.

Fm radio. Prior to multiplex, FM stereo was simulcast on one AM and one FM band. You'd tune in left channel on you AM receiver and right on the FM...

Multiplex allowed both bands to receive on an AUX setting and separate the channels.

I have one local talk station that broadcasts on AM and FM and it does come out stereo.
