Hagerty Classic car insurance

Post: # 12489Post electra225 »

We've been using Condon and Skelly for probably close to 35 years. Their customer service has been going downhill for several years. I won't go into that here. I keep getting spam email from Hagerty and I know members on here use them. What can you guys tell me about Hagerty? They seem to be "old car" guys unlike Condon and Skelly. I know Hagerty is higher, but sometimes cheaper is not better. ;)
I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison

They cover my Mustang and Chevy. The policies are "agreed value"--they will pay the value if the car is destroyed. None of those vile adjusters with big cigars saying "take it or leave it." I've never had to make a claim (fortunately) but I have had the Chevy towed when the fuel pump failed--very efficient and trouble-free process. The magazine that comes with their extra package is very good. They are a big employer here in TC, their headquarters. That's where I got to see the Bullitt Mustang when it was in their display window.

I'm with American Collectors. I just checked JC Taylor and Haggerty and JC is $80 less than Haggerty. Both are less than AC...

As noted, the Hagerty folks are all car people, and they actively support car hobbyist causes and employ car people. In short, they are actively engaged, and not just some parasites making money off the car folks. One time at Hersey they built a Model A on-site from parts they bought there.

I switched to hagerty last year... half the price of state farm and they promise you a set value for your total loss... none of this black/blue book value BS the other insurance companies play...
