Celebrating here with a fancy English hat (discussed previously under the '57 Buick thread)--at my sister's house, with nephew his wife making a fancy dinner.

It looks like we are all missing out by not being there. :( Enjoy your New Year's Eve.

Think about our new number, 2023. Long ago when I was in college, I looked forward toward the then-distant new century of the year 2000. It seemed so far off, and sure enough, a quick subtraction showed that I would be 53 then. That seemed like an impossibly elderly stage of life. How could anybody function at such an advanced age? Remember, please, that these calculations were being performed at the age of 20 or maybe 21.

The great lesson since then is that if we stay curious and active, enjoying new experiences, life gets richer. Let's hope 2023 treats us that way.

Chris, I remember that too. We're apparently the same age, at least physically. It's amazing how fast time really flies after 25.
