I've been seeing all the grim warnings for NW lower MI so my plan is to leave work early tomorrow and make a quick run to Bay City ahead of the storm. There are blizzard warnings but they begin Thursday NIGHT so I'm hoping the afternoon is OK. Whoever scheduled the holidays ths year did not consult NOAA first.

Tuning around on the console early this morning I came across WHO with their weather report. Horrible. It's going to be bad here but I see it can be worse. Stay warm and safe, people.

Looks like Nebraska is in the path all right, we've got family in Kearney and North Platte battening down the hatches.
It was minus 13 in Denver last night where daughter lives now, with a high of minus 7 today!

We have blizzards scheduled starting tonight and going thru Christmas Eve. I have a well-stocked pantry, freezer, fridge, and plenty of gas for the generator just in case. I'm staying put.

The operative phrases here are "blizzard" and "Bomb cyclone." I'm pushing off as soon as I pack the computer, to beat the storm. I always take weather warnings with a grain of salt and usually with a minus 20% on any number, but it is best not to gamble.

It's in the low 50's today and driving into work the DOT has put salt slurry on the roads into town. All the traffic was driving like the salt was ice on the road. They must've thought I was Evel Knievel driving at the speed limit. The temps will hold til 1 am then they will drop like a rock to 17, then 24 for tomorrow.
