2 pc RCA Console sells for $1400 on EBAY
Not sure why this 2 piece RCA would command a 4 figure sale price. Did RCA put LC-1A's in consoles? One of the photos shows original sale paperwork for a Packard Bell console. Perhaps the original owner had 2 consoles and some of the paperwork was swapped. Also curious that there is 0 feedback for this seller who joined in 2020.

One word. California.
Some of this stuff sells for crazy money there. Anyplace else that would be a $100 item on a good day.
The seller may have been a member of ebay since 2020, but hadn't bought or sold anything. Thus his low numbers.

Exactly... CA, 'nuf said.
I don't believe a Harry Olsen designed LC-1 would even fit in that console, and was never used in one, afaik.

I'm assuming an LC-1 is an RCA amplifier?
What are its specs and what makes them special?

The RCA LC-1 would be my "white whale" in the speaker world. Would someday love to hear a pair in proper cabs and equipment.

What would the proper cabinet and equipment consist of? Were these speakers installed from the factory in console stereos? I'm not familiar with them. Are they a "collector" item, or are they still fairly available? About what era would an LC-1 be?

I've seen those frequently in photos and the additional info is interesting. What's especially curious is how simple, modest, and serious those cabinets look. For professional use, performance mattered. For the consumer market, add chrome, plastic, and flash and reduce the performance; settle for "good enough."

It's connection to "Living Stereo" recordings was interesting. Thanks for that link, Bill. I had no idea such a thing existed.

This system must have been one of the early stereo models, likely SHF-. Two amps? One pseudo-stereo amp like the SHC models? The one on ebay had most of the knob's center britework missing. $1400 there, $200 here, maybe.
I wish these sellers would take the time to post a photo of the LABEL, telling us what model it is, what tubes it has. And, RCA had the best labels!
