Re: Viva Tubes Flyer
Thanks, Rex. Wasn't Western Electric, I may have that wrong, going to start suppling tubes again? I believe I remember someone, maybe you, posting that awhile back. Has anyone heard any more about that?

Re: Viva Tubes Flyer
I remember rumblings about it a few years ago, in Tennessee. There are 1 or 2 eastern European manufacturers also.

Re: Viva Tubes Flyer
There's an article in the Nov. '22 Stereophile magazine (p. 40) about WE's new amplifier and their tube plans. Somebody bought WE's intellectial property and name rights. They are making 300B triodes and plan to make 12AT/U/X7 triodes, 6550s, and 6L6s next. They will not be cheap....

Re: Viva Tubes Flyer
Didn't we have a conversation on this forum about the new tubes?

Re: Viva Tubes Flyer
I think so, but it may have been on the other forum.

Re: Viva Tubes Flyer
I thought it was on this one. Firedome has posted about new production tubes in the past. Perhaps he will chime in and give us an update.

Re: Viva Tubes Flyer
Wonder what the odds are that it will have a thread of it's own?

Re: Viva Tubes Flyer
Haven't heard anything new re: Charles Whitmer's plans for new WE tubes in the new factory beyond the current production 300Bs. There's ongoing work/planning for new-reissues of some Mullards in England.
