What was "THE" one....
Which console or record player or component that you have is the one you wanted more than anything else in the world? The one you hunted all over creation to find? Where cost was no object, that when you found it, it would be yours. Mine is the Magnavox 1MR418M Stereo Theater. I wanted one for a long time, and they seemed to be more elusive than the Concert Grand. Many members of this forum contributed to finding it. Luck was on my side. And, of course, I wouldn't have it at all if not for Bill doing most of the work!

I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison

Thanks for the photo, it's definitely a impressive turntable and makes my Denon look really cheap. My next question, what's it hooked too?

Re: What was "THE" one....
I have been thinking about Greg's question on "What's the ONE" and I really do not have a "What's the one", at least not that goes with this topic. Actually, I'm not sure with any topic. There are a couple of things I wish I still had, that I miss, but in my old age I do not want to take care of them anymore. The two that I miss the most are my 1973 Buick Riviera GS, and my 3 manual 10 rank theater pipe organ. I'm not sure where the Riviera ended up, but I do know where the organ is, and I have access to it any time I want.

Bill, do you ever listen to the "Pipedreams" public radio organ broadcast? WIAA carries it, both hours, on Fridays at 7. Archived shows are online.

Chris, at one time I did listen, but I kind of forgot about it as the local PBS station in GR did not carry it anymore. Back then it was broadcast at 6 AM on Sunday mornings. Is the station you listen to a PBS station in TC? I probably can't get that but the online I can do. Thanks for posting the info.

Glad to have found it, and then found it the new home with you Elton. I just could not see it end up in the landfill.

Going thru a Stereo Theater/Home Theater three-in-one console is one of the most rewarding (and aggravating) projects I ever got involved in. They are a work of electronic art. The best there was in their day. You will have a ball working with it and then enjoying it when you get it done. Good luck, Elton....
