AES wants $32 to ship $20 worth of Tolex less than 20 miles. I always just go pick up whatever I order. They have been prompt with me getting stuff picked and ready for pickup. They don't "know anything about anything" so if you have a question, good luck with that. I get aggravated every time I do business with them, but they have the best prices going on new tubes and Tolex. Unless you are buying TV tubes, their NOS tubes are astronomically priced. ;)

I had some good experiences with their Philco escutcheons. When I needed grille cloth, it was cut properly.
Location is close enough, AES is just too far away, high shipping costs and delays.

I ordered a replacement dial for a RCA I restored years ago ...and I actually got it.. must have been in stock, never ordered anything else from them.

For me, they vanished in the rearview years ago.

I gave up on Radio Daze years ago. They were good at promising, not so good at delivering what they promised.

Interesting, very interesting. Seems they have finally seen the "error" of their ways.

They got rid of tubes from their catalog years ago. Not a smart move.

Then they caused backlogs on reproduction graphics even before the pandemic hit. Seems they used every excuse possible (going by ARF posts with unhappy individuals). And I know it wasn't just a few "Negative Nancy's", there were a number of what I consider valid complaints. I have my gripes with them as well.

Now, out of the clear blue, all of a sudden (golly, did they realize now, that their bottom line is in peril?) I get this very telling e-mail. Some of which contradicts their previous statements.
