What this a sorta Econo unit... only 3 knobs, no AM/FM?

It's just a record player only. Quite the rig for not having a radio tuner. Magnavox didn't build any really low end tube stuff.

Hello, Yes it seems they made this in a record only console. Also a different 5 knob lower end radio. Also a 54 series preamp as in the 2st203 (photo).

This 1959 model has everything a fine unit would but the radio. The stereo amp uses P-P 6V6 using 7025 phono preamp and a pair of 12AX7 for inverter/drivers. The three knobs are by them selves, wires down to the amp. This is not as desirable a configuration due to potential noise pickup. No power switch other than on the changer.

I have this same model in storage, it uses a chassis AMP185 and just three knobs but there is room to add the six-knob tuner with a few wiring changes at the amp My 1960 Symphony uses an AMP175, same but has one less preamp stage on board, which is in the radio chassis where it belongs.

In my shop is probably the cheapest Magnavox console with a radio from 1961, small but still a sweet sounding model that uses SE 6BQ5, 12" speakers and a "series 100" 5-knob tuner with small knobs.

I have extras: 57-01 and 57-03 tuners, not hard to find when consoles get parted for amps.
