Okay, call me naive, but I didn't know the Lone Ranger theme was the William Tell Overture. Glen Campbell may have been one of the more underrated guitar players of his time. The first I heard of him, he played session work for Hank Thompson's first stereo album in 1966. He may be almost as good as Roy Clark......

Glenn Campbell was a first rate guitar player. He worked with the Wrecking Crew in LA in the 60s and they were some of the best studio musicians ever. Glenn couldn't read music but that didn't hold him back at all.
He also sang and played with the Beach Boys but not for very long. I have read that they wanted him to stay but only wanted to pay him a salary instead of making him a partner. It looks like he made the right decision when he left them.

Has everybody seen the cool Wrecking Crew documentary?

It's on Netflix but I saw it in a theater with a real sound system.
