I am not the biggest Bobby Darin fan in the world, but I have this album. I'll have to admit that the guy could sing. I typically connect him with rock and roll, but singing standards was perhaps his long suite. Andy Williams is usually associated with this song, but Bobby Darin does a nice job on this cover.

Another person that had a hit with that song was Tony Bennett.

This may be my favorite version of the song. Starts at about 1:40.

I think it's amazing how that parrot can carry a tune. It's a lot better than I could do.

Bobby Darin was extremely talented. He started out doing rock & Roll, then moved to standards, country, and folk. The guy could sing anything.
His singles chart is very diverse:

I discovered most rock and roll artists when I was an adult. My grandpa was not a music fan. He would only allow Lawrence Welk and country to be played in the house. The rest was "sissy music". I got a Connie Francis 45 when I was still at home. Grandpa found it and put it in a cupboard so I couldn't play it. He was not a mean guy, quite the contrary. He just thought music and musicians were a waste of time. When I got married, my wife had a huge collection of rock and roll records, in fact, we still have them. She introduced me to the rock and roll artists. I bought a huge collection of CD's at an auction in Missouri. I put them in two CD changers in the shop. I am playing them and discovering all kinds of talent I was/am unfamiliar with. I always connected Bobby Darin with "Splish Splash" and his rock and roll hits. I am/was not impressed with those. The album I have of his singing standards is quite good. I'm not sure he is a Como or even a Bobby Vinton, but he does a nice job.
