A couple good finds at the swap meet

Post: # 27697Post 1922VV111 »

So yesterday I brought home more goodies and here are a couple pieces of audio gear I found!

First is this SBE Console V CB radio from about 1977 or 1978, I posted about it on Reddit and they said I got a good deal for $40. It does work but of course it will need caps due to the channel numbers not lighting up. But I plugged in my CB antenna and was getting chatter so that was a good sign. Not sure how everything on this works and I didn’t get a microphone for it either…

Second is a piece of audio gear I’ve been lowkey wanting for years and I finally found one! The Pioneer SR9 from probably around 1982 or so reverb amp.
I’ve been fiddling with it and got it working with my cassette deck through trial and error. I hooked up my iPad to it with a Y connector and it didn’t seem to work, so I take it only works when I got a tape deck or CD player connected. It’s a pretty neat effect adding that echo to make the music a little trippier and how that display light moves….

I also found a bag with square belts for cassette decks so that would very handy to have.

Also a Marantz EC-7? (I think) Microphone. Will be perfect to use with my reel to reel decks!

Also found, a MIDI keyboard, a 126 film camera, a Midland shoebox tape recorder, and 7 vinyl records.

It's fun to find unexpected things--like the belts for cassette players! These days, because of a huge backlog of "some day" projects, I am limiting myself to curbside finds and similar orphans. Now that winter is coming on, it's time to select a project or 2. Maybe the Victor RE-45 ( amp power supply needs attention), or the E.H. Scott 510 (ditto), or the Heath AA-22 or AA-100?

Chris, pick the Heath AA-100, I have one that needs attention too.

I sold my Cobra 23 CB radio at our auction. That thing had bounced around on the top of the dashboard on a Mack for who-knows-how-many miles. I sold it and the "ugly sticks" I used with it for $65. I probably didn't pay much more than that when they were new.
