Mel and Nancy.....

Post: # 25971Post electra225 »

Mell Tillis and Nancy Sinatra cut an album in 1981. They had a chart hit on one of the songs, "Texas Cowboy Night". Released in 1981 on Elektra, Nancy Sinatra's record label. The particular album I have was owned by a local radio station. Mel Tillis cut a number of albums with female singers during this period, Sherry Brice being one of the more famous on country stations. "After The Lovin'" was on the album, along with "I Would Fly", "Where Would I Be", "Where in Heaven On Earth" and other contemporary recordings of the day. Very enjoyable material by two artists of very different music genres. They used some of the heavy hitters from Nashville on this album. Chip Young on guitar and Paul Franklin on steel are a couple of standouts. This is their version of the Englebert Humperdinck classic "After The Lovin'"....
