Fisher used vaneered particle board in their cabinets? Those are both practical-sized units. What are those realistically worth? I'm saying the first one is about right at $525. The second owner is dreaming on price since it needs work.

Yes the 500 dollar range is about what I have seen them go for... but you notice the knob brights are all missing which are unobtainium ...IDK what the guy is talking about particle board ?... mine is solid wood . The other seems to be complete , but the price is crazy , just because JFK carried one around with him does not add that much, unless it is the very one he carried around...notice the speaker cabinet depth ?... try to find a 8" replacement that will fit in there today ... just like the GE...

Would it be practical to increase the depth of the speaker enclosures? You could take the GE speaker cabinets apart, add an inch or so, then cover them with Tolex. Jimmy O covers wood up all the time with Tolex, then charges big money for the item. Expanding the speaker enclosures might not only let you use more readily-available speakers, but it might also make you rich!....... ;)

These were like the most "economical" fisher all-in-ones so they really weren't that rare. Find one with the avaliable table they had and throw in a pair of WS1 auxiliary speakers and you'd have something.

Lot more portable than a president but not worth those prices.

Output tubes are 6HU8 ELL80, a push pull in one tube - a dual pentode but no match for a pair of 6BQ5 EL84

I was wondering why Fisher would use single ended. Thanks, Dave for the explanation I learned something today. Thy both are nice looking units but not something I would spend that kind of money on especially the one. That is ridiculous money.
