Somebody should save that. Stromberg-Carlson did not build junk. Their stuff was top drawer all the way. The price is a give-away... ;) :D

This looks like a tube model, with no indication of "solid state". Very rare and at least as good as our favorites. The GS record changer alone makes this a worthwhile console.

Stromberg Carlson made some really good audio equipment but after General Dynamics bought SC in 1955, telephone switching equipment was bread and butter. Wiki has good page on this company and where it's gone since 1982 when G-D split up divs. and sold it.

I'm guessing the price was a big part of that, and the fact it's a Stromberg-Carlson.
