This particular Motorola uses a very interesting amplifier and separate reverberation amp AND dedicated speaker seen to right of 15" driver. The Hammond Organ dual spring reverb tank is at far left but you can see the two 6BM8 PP on the reverb chassis at left. Brettzky was able to find and mail some Motorola-branded OEM Mullard ECL82/6BM8's to replace two that tested with G1-K shorts! This HS870 amp uses a pair of 6BM8 for each right and left channel, but the old standard pair of 6BQ5's for center bass channel.
It sounds like the ones before and ones after but this model series was limited to SK-49-55 only.

Nice looking unit, Dave, and very similar to my Drexel cabinet amp which is HS-839A. My reverb amp is mounted on the side of the cabinet. How many speakers do you have? Mine has 7.

Yes indeed, this one has six. Even number because of the separate vibrasonic speaker

That sure is a sparkly amp when it's running. It would be a shame to house it where it couldn't be seen.....
I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison

I'm thinking mine has 7 speakers because my Vibrasonic is in stereo, so reverb for each side???? There are three on each side, and the 15" woofer in the center.
