Shielded RCA jack mono cables

I have a final ( I hope) thing to complete the Magnavox New Horizon
consolette.
I need to replace the original RCA shielded cable that attaches
to the VOL control, and then plugs into the amp input with a standard
1/8 inch plug on one end.

I tried soldering on an RCA cable/jack pigtail
I had, but it's not shielded enough,
or has broken shield wiring internally,
and hums noticeably.

Has anyone found a source for good old vanilla mono RCA cables
that have heavier gauge wires in them ?

Any cables I saved have very thin signal and shield wiring.

Thanks.

Maybe a ground loop (have I got the right term?). Sometimes you have to solder the shield to the ground at one end only in order to avoid hum.

Might some of these cables work? I'm sure maybe even Parts Express would have something.

Good buddy Dave1138 reminded me of a very good
and one of the last electronics parts house here.

It's not located close by, but they have both shielded wire and
RCA connectors.
They also have RCA patch cords with 18 G wire !

I'll go next week and grab some of each.

The Magnavox New Horizon does sound very good,
in spite of the extraneous hum.
